Description

Vigorous native prairie shrub with coarse green leaves and inconspicuous yellow-green to brown blooms in spring followed by red catkins in late spring. Thrives in wet soil. Primarily used for naturalization. Red catkins are followed by small seed catkins which look like tiny cones. Do well in poor or fertile soils.
