The blooms might still be hiding on this hyacinth, but give it a couple of weeks and it will display its bright lovely flowers. Hyacinth bulbs are usually planted before the ground freezes in autumn and emerge late winter to early spring. This flower was started in a nursery pot and should be kept indoors until early spring when the ground has thawed and it can be planted outdoors. Care

General Maintenance: Plant only where you have space for them to spread, as they will spread quickly. Perfect for around shrubs or on the edges of a garden bed. Plant at least 2-3 inches apart and 3-4 inches deep. Cut back leaves in the fall and remove the whole flowerstock after it is done blooming.

Temperature: To germinate, they need temperatures around 15°C.

Light: They are not overly picky and will thrive in direct sun or partial shade. If it is too dark, they will not flower.

Watering: Don't require a lot of water, as they don't like to be waterlogged. They are perfectly happy with rainfall, but definitely supplement water if it has been particularly hot and dry.

Fertilizer: Not required. If you feel the need, you can lightly fertilize shortly before and during the blooming period.

Soil: Whatever garden soil you use will work fine.
